Well to be honest there are lots and lots of places to eat out. It almost takes 3–4 days to completely explore all areas of Udaipur as foodie. Let me categorise it for you. It very much depends upon what are you really seeking in your little sneak out. Is it just the food or are you looking to get some shots of serene beauty of Udaipur as well.
If you want both of them food+view then following restraunts might be in your interest, most of them are located in old city while some of them near FS as well-known

However you are looking for just good food with nice ambience following would be my choices -

- Laal Bagh
- Rana ji
- Hukum shree

- Udaipuri
Apart from above restraunts every city has some of its own street food attractions. Udaipur is not far behind. If I would be in your place I would not dare to miss a single place listed below-
- Mumbaiya Bazzar at sukhadia circle - the main attraction of street food in Udaipur , you will find every sort of food with a meticulous effort being put in by all vendors and lightening quick service. Order will be serviced before even you settle down! And all this at ultra affordable price. Maybe 2 cups of mocca at Starbucks would be costlier than your entire meal. From paav bhaji to China bhature Chinese pizzas and yeah those faluda they serve as best climax ever !
- Anda bhurji at chetak - boy! These vendors at chetak have given such a twist to eggs that you just can't resist yourself from trying each of their recipes. Again ultra cheap prices
- Cold coffee at FS - this is the meal ender for 80 % of Udaipurites. Nothing special but just it has it's more of tradition now.
- Poha at udiapole - now the best part about this is the stock of these poha vendors are over at 7 am . You'll be like so when do you have them ? That's right rush is such you have to go at 4 am in the morning to get some of those turmuriced poha !
- Daal pakwan of rmv college - this is a dish many few of us have tried but yes it do have a very exotic texture and taste
- Aalo bada of Fateh school - the rush that storms in for just a fried ball of potato is unimaginable
- Vada paao and buttermilk of lok Kala manual - another very amazing place
- Chinese of any of RK stalls - these guys are mostly from north east and have about 10–12 stalls around the city. They give the best desi Chinese products at very affordable prices
- Malai Kulfi of ghantaghar - this is a sweet savoury and delicious candy which melts down your taste organs
These all street food attractives can give you so much of taste without troubling much of your pockets.
However if you are not concerned much about the prices then certainly you have luxurious options like oberoi udaivilas , lalit laxmivilas , jagmandir , trident which can provide you best authentic and round the globe cuisines . Not to miss the food chains as Udaipur also have all your McD's KFC's and domino's barbeque nation.
Well I hope that's helpful and I ask out all Udaipurites to comment and advise any more such places which I missed ( surely I missed a lot of them )
Cheers
